In addition, Sheri and Derek speak to elementary school students about the importance of kindness, what it takes to be a successful author, and the behind-the-scenes of transforming an idea into a book.

Sheri and Derek have spoken to and inspired thousands people throughout North America including events for PBS, Barnes & Noble, the Girl Scouts of America, USC, and UCLA, corporations including Macy’s and California Pizza Kitchen, and has keynoted for the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Southern California Writers Conference, the American Association of University Women, the Missouri Writers Conference, the Writing Pad, and the South Bay Women’s Conference.
Our School Visit Program is designed to meet the needs of any school. Themes include: anti-bullying, being brave, asking for help, adapting to change, being authentic, science and astronomy, the importance of reading and writing, how to become an author, learning Spanish, and more! Our energetic and stimulating presentations expand children’s imaginations with whimsy and wonder from the depths of the ocean to the heights of the galaxy, and always include awesome giveaways, prizes, and a book signing experience.
We’ve spoken to over 65,000 students throughout the United States so far and visited over 350 schools. Our shows correspond to different age groups, and we often do multiple shows per day so that every child in the school has a chance to experience the magic.
Grades TK-K can enjoy a show centered on the educational books Counting Sea Life with the Little Seahorse and Exploring the Garden with the Little Rose. Grades K-3 will love our shows focused on Sheri’s #1 best-selling The Little Series books, which promote social-emotional learning: personal empowerment, anti-bullying, and self-esteem building. K-3 students can also hear about Derek’s space adventure Simon and the Solar System or experience a bilingual presentation of El Perro con Sombrero and Doggy Claus/Perro Noel. For grades 3-6, Derek offers interactive, choose-your-adventure slideshows based on his popular series Scary School and his humorous S.T.E.A.M. chapter book, Principal Mikey.
